Award winning instruction in traditional Shotokan Karate at one of Southport’s most successful dojos, following the teachings of Sensei Steve Cattle (6th Dan) and Sensei Taiji Kase (8th Dan). Established in 1999 the club has produced numerous dan grades and has an enviable record of success in tournaments. Placed at the heart of the community we are accredited to Sefton Sports Council and are a Sefton Children’s University learning destination, as well as having raised thousands of pounds for local charities.
Resident senior instructor is Sensei Rob Willis (5th Dan), who has over 35 years karate experience and is an NCF coach and former Sefton Council Coach of the Year. The club offers classes for adults and children, providing quality instruction to recognised standards.

The following Martial Arts Styles are offered at West Lancs Karate Academy:
- Shotokan Karate
Programs & Class Schedule
Adult classes (age 14 plus) are on:
Mondays 8.00 pm to 9.30 pm
and
Wednesdays 7.30 pm to 9.00 pm.
Children classes (age 7 to 14) are on Fridays at 5.30 pm – 6.30 pm.
First Session is free of charge without obligation.
Just come along, all you need is loose clothing.
