The class is taught by Dai Sifu Chris Parker (9th Duan) Chief Instructor of The World Free Spirit Federation. Martial artists of all levels are welcome from absolute beginners to advanced grades in other styles.
Hung Leng Kuen Kung Fu / Wu Shu is a traditional martial art, made relevant for today’s society. Suitable for young and old, women and men, it teaches practical, no-nonsense self-defence, the traditional animal-based forms and weaponry and builds confidence, ability, strength, flexibility, stamina, health and well-being.
As Hung Leng Kuen is a modern style, beginners may be more familiar with comparable styles such as wing chun (short range martial art, especially suitable for women), Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kune Do (another modern fighting system with many similarities to Hung Leng Kuen), Shaolin Long Fist and Choy Gar (long range fighting arts), Chinese boxing and Muay Thai.
