Bedford Aiuchi was established in 2003 and we have been running self protection seminars and teaching self-defence and jiu jitsu since. We are affiliated to the Aiuchi Jiu Jitsu Association which operates clubs throughout the country.
Aiuchi jiu jitsu is a martial art aimed primarily at self-defence.
Translating as the ‘gentle art’, jiu jitsu aims to use technique and movement rather than strength to subdue an attacker. Students learn to use locks, throws, strikes and kicks to defend themselves against a variety of different attacks.
Training helps to develop awareness, confidence, and provides a set of skills which help you to protect yourself.
